My name is Jayzic Matos, and I’m a shortstop for CBA baseball. My most important things in my life are my family and everyone who is and has continued to helped me succeed.

Off of the field, I love to travel with my family and play wiffle ball with my little brother. My goals are to graduate from college, play professional baseball, and earn a Gold Glove Award.

WHERE THE BEST ATHLETES GET BETTER

Q&A WITH JAYZIC

Q: What's your favorite book?

JAYZIC: The Mental Game of Baseball, by H. A. Dorfman. This book taught me to stay calm in all situations, on and off the field.

Q: Name one thing everyone should experience at least once?

JAYZIC: Talking to someone who has succeeded more than them. I think that it’s great to hear their perspective, so then you can realize the steps they took to get to where they are, and you can learn from that. It also humbles you by realizing there is always someone who is better than you.

Q: What's your favorite song?

JAYZIC: All in by Lil Baby. The lyrics in the song says: “Press the button right there to let the doors in, go hard all year, I don’t care, I’m going all in.” This really resonates with me because If I take a break, others won’t and they'll pass me up.

Q: What's your favorite way to train at Legends? Why?

JAYZIC: The Plyoboard is my favorite because it has improved my explosiveness, and my first step and reaction time has improved so much.

Q: What’s one thing you have to do to prepare on game day?

JAYZIC: I listen to my pregame playlist and say a prayer.

Q: What do you do post-training to enhance your performance?

JAYZIC: I stretch out and use the Hypervolt right when I get home.
