Q: What's a book you read that made an impact on you?β¨
TATE: Relentless by Tim Grover, who was Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant’s trainer. He talks about their work ethic and mindset. Something that impacted me was what he described as a "cleaner", which is never being satisfied, always setting new goals when reaching your personal best. Not stopping at good, or great, but fighting until you are unstoppable.
β¨Q: Name one thing everyone should experience at least once?β¨
TATE: I think everyone should experience being outside of their comfort zone. For me, that was moving to the mainland from Hawaii and living on my own. I feel that being out of your comfort zone helps you to grow as a person, and being able to adapt to new situations is important.

Q: What is your favorite song?
TATE: A song I never get tired of listening to is Hawaiian Pakalolo. It gets me hyped up before my games, and I like to listen to it when I’m driving home after my workout.
Q: What's your favorite way to train at Legends? Why?
TATE: My favorite way to train at Legends is on the treadmills. It’s a good challenge and helps to improve my speed. Whenever we do treads my legs are dead and I’m drenched with sweat, which I like.
Q: What’s one thing you have to do to prepare on game day?
TATE: On game day, I like to listen to music on the drive to the game because it helps me stay loose.
Q: What do you do post-training to enhance your performance?
After training, I like to use the Hypervolt massage guns and Normatec to help my body feel fresh. Then I drink my protein drink and stretch so my body is ready for the next day to workout hard again.
